Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 championships have been won on hard surfaces
A resurgent Medvedev won his first trophy for over two years with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The Russian, a former world number one, has endured a challenging year, winning just a single victory at the major tournaments and undergoing a difficult moment at the American major.
His varied form on the tennis tour - and struggles with his service game in especial - resulted in him dropping out of the world's top 10 and ultimately parting ways with long-term coach his previous coach.
Presently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, he has steadily improved in the past month - peaking in a hard-fought competitive victory over challenger Corentin Moutet.
This marks his initial championship since the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hardcourt from spring of 2023.
The win also means the Russian has won 21 victories at twenty-one various tournaments.
"It's the first time I'm at a competition with my two daughters simultaneously, so to get a championship is especially meaningful," stated world number 14 the champion.
"This championship is in honour of my second daughter her name, because the initial championship I got when my older daughter her name was born was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his previous six championship matches, including in Halle earlier this year.
The player's counter-punching strategy and recurring reactions on court had caused observers to wonder if his capacity to perform at the highest level was over.
Yet the athlete has altered his approach in recent weeks, making an effort to approach the net and compete aggressively, backed up by an improved serve.
The champion recovered from a deficit in the initial set against the difficult Moutet, securing 4 of the last five points to go ahead.
The pair exchanged breaks in the second set before the challenger, attempting for his initial professional title, gained dominance to force a decider.
Moutet defended four initial opportunities in a tight final set before Medvedev won the break to that score to secure the win.
Fittingly, he clinched the win with a shot at the front of the court, with the Frenchman incapable to manage a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
